Ingrid Taylor ~ Principal

Ingrid is an inspiring and personally motivated lawyer who brings a dynamic approach to her practice of law. She leads the Taylor Shaw team, as her father and grandfather did before her, in providing high quality legal services.

Ingrid acknowledges the firm's proud heritage and remains very much committed to its future. She has retained the professional excellence and outstanding service delivered by previous generations of her family, as well as bringing her unique personal approach to supporting her clients.

For Ingrid, the practice of law is a rewarding experience.
"I enjoy what I do and, like the rest of our team, I work closely with my clients to develop the best solutions for them and ensure they are fully involved in the legal process as it applies to their particular situation."

Ingrid is a member of the Trusts and Wills sub-committee of the New Zealand Law Society, is a member of the Institute of Directors and currently sits on the Board of Manchester Unity Friendly Society. She also acts as a Trustee for a number of charitable societies, organisations and individuals.

Kathryn Dalziel ~ Associate

Kathryn is an enthusiastic and articulate senior litigator who is highly motivated with a keen interest in all aspects of the law.

Kathryn has a multi-dimensional approach to law based on many years of practical experience in the Courts, where she is well respected. Kathryn believes dispute resolution requires a consideration of all the options, including solutions beyond the immediate realm of the law.
"While I am completely at home in the Courtroom, there is nothing more satisfying than negotiating a settlement for a client at mediation that allows the client to put the dispute behind them."

Kathryn is Taylor Shaw's privacy specialist, known nationally and internationally as one of New Zealand's leading experts in Privacy Law. She has authored a number of publications and is regularly invited to address conferences on privacy matters, as well as lecturing in privacy and professional ethics at the University of Canterbury.

An active participant within the New Zealand Law Society, Kathryn is a member of several committees: NZLS Standards Committee, Ethics Committee, and Human Rights < Privacy Committee. Kathryn also sits on the Board of the St John of God Hauora Trust and Kirkwood Intermediate Board of Trustees.

Tania Cook ~ Associate

Tania is a senior family court lawyer, who has an innate ability to communicate with a diverse range of people. Extremely perceptive, she provides a professional and supportive service to clients in all aspects of the dispute resolution process.

Joining the Taylor Shaw team in 2000, Tania has over 20 years experience within the legal profession. Her strong knowledge of property and commercial transactions adds value to the associated property aspects of family law.

Tania's philosophy is that it is best to resolve family disputes as amicably as possible.
"I look to achieve a result for my clients, preferably outside the court, that is financially, emotionally and economically sustainable so they can move on with their lives."

For cases that require the court's intervention, Tania's strong experience in litigation means she is able to provide this additional level of support if required.

Nicola Fraser ~ Senior Solicitor

Nicola, a senior member of Taylor Shaw's commercial team, is strongly client focused with an eye for detail. She uses her expertise to support her clients to find practical solutions for their legal transactions. Nicola makes the law more accessible by ensuring she is responsive to her clients' needs and they know more than just 'where to sign'.

Nicola was admitted to the legal profession in 1985 and practiced in commercial and property law in both Christchurch and London. She then went into business with her husband, operating a successful farming enterprise in North Canterbury that they continue to run together.

Joining Taylor Shaw in 2007 marked her return to the practice of law where Nicola has brought a wealth of practical knowledge and experience in the establishment and operation of a business.
"I think it is important that people set up their business carefully. A vital part of my role is to provide my clients with quality advice and ensure they fully understand how the legal process works."

Sharlene Tenbohmer ~ Trust Account Manager

Sharlene is Taylor Shaw's trust account manager and senior administrator having worked in the firm for over 20 years. Sharlene's main responsibility is the ongoing management of the firm's trust account and she also assists in general estate and life tenancy administration, trusts and trust administration, estate planning and wills, and conveyancing.

In her spare time Sharlene enjoys watching sport, walking and spending time with her children.

Vicki Lay ~ Registered Legal Executive / Office Manager

Vicki is a senior Legal Executive with over 20 years' experience. She specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing, and estate administration. She joined Taylor Shaw in 2001 and works part time.

Vicki is an active sportswoman who runs, cycles and coaches her children's sports teams.

Kim James ~ Registered Legal Executive

Kim is a Registered Legal Executive with over 19 years of experience in the profession. She qualified as a Legal Executive in 1999 and has practised in London and Dublin. She specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing/refinancing. Kim joined Taylor Shaw in 2004.

Kim is married and has a busy toddler and in her spare time enjoys reading and entertaining friends and family.

Delia van Slooten ~ Registered Legal Executive

Delia is a Legal Executive with over 24 years experience in conveyancing, family trust, estate planning including wills and powers of attorney, estate administration and commercial work. Joining Taylor Shaw in 2004 as a legal executive, Delia has now taken over the role of Trust Administrator, handling family trust matters.

Delia is a keen musician, she is married, and she has two young children who keep her busy!

Nikki Stepkowski ~ Legal Secretary

Nikki joined Taylor Shaw as a legal secretary/personal assistant in 2009 having previously worked in other Christchurch law firms for 10 years. Nikki assists Tania Cook and Kathryn Dalziel with family, civil litigation and employment matters.

In 2009, Nikki graduated as a Legal Executive.
